Randomness of Universe

I have been reading a novel by Amish, titled "The Oath of Vayuputras'. Something that changed the way I see things was a conversation between lead character & his partner (wife), which went like this:

------------------Excerpts from Novel------------------

'But I didn't free myself, Shiva. You did. It was your strength. And all the Vikarmas, including me, were set free because that was your karma.' Said Sati.

'So how does this work?' asked Shiva disbelievingly. 'That was the compounded totality of sins committed by all the Vikarma over their individual previous lives was nullified at the stroke ofa quill when I struck down this law? On that fateful day, in a flash, several lifetimes of sins sullying every Vikarma soul were washed away? A day of divine pardon, indeed!'

'Shiva, are you mocking me?'

'Would I ever do that, dear?' asked Shiva, but his smile gave him away. 'Don't you see how illogical this entire concept is? How can one believe that an innocent child is born with sin? It's clear as daylight: a new-born child has done no wrong. He has done no right either. He has just been born. He could not have done anything!'

'Perhaps not in this life, Shiva. But it's possible that the child committed a sin in a previous life. Perhaps the child's ancestors committed sins for which the child must be held accountable.'

Shiva was unconvinced. 'Don't you get it? It's a system designed to control people. It makes those who suffer or are oppressed, blame themselves for their misery. Because you believe you are paying for sins committed either in your own previous lives or those committed by your ancestors, or even community. Perhaps even the sins of the first man ever born! The system therefore propagates suffering as a form of antonement and at the same time does not allow one to question the wrongs done unto oneself.'

'Then why do some people suffer? Why do some get far less than what they deserve?'

'The same reason why there are others who get far more than what they deserve. It's completely random.'

Shiva gallantly reached out to help Sati mount her steed but she declined gracefully slid onto the stallion. Her husband smiled. There was nothing he loved more than her intense sense of self-sufficiency and pride. Shiva leapt onto his own horse and with a quick spur matched Sati's pace.

'Really, Shiva,' said Sati, looking towards him. 'Do you believe that the Parmatma plays dice with universe? That we are all handed our fate randomly?'

'I think the Parmatma does not interfere in our lives. He sets the rules by which universe exists. Then, He does something very difficult.'

'What?'

'He leaves us alone. He lets things play out naturally. He let His creations make decisions about their own lives, It's not easy being a witness when one has the power to rule. It takes Supreme God to be able to do that. He knows this is our world, our karmabhoomi,' said Shiva, waving his hand all around as though pointing our the land of their karma.

'Don't you think this is difficult to accept? If people believe that their fate is completely random, it would leave them without any sense of understanding, purpose or motivation. Or why they are where they are.'

'On the contrary, this is an empowering thought. When you know that your fate us completely random, you have the freedom to commit yourself to any theory that will empower you. If you have been blessed with good fate, you can choose to believe it is God's kindness and ingrain humility within. But if you have been cursed with bad fate, you need to know that no Great Power is seeking to punish you. Your situation is, in fact, a result of completely random circumstances, an indiscriminate turn of universe. Therefore, if you decide to challenge your destiny, your opponent would not be some judgmental Lord Almighty who is seeking to punish you; your opponent would only be the limitations of your own mind. This will empower you to fight your fate.'

Copyrights of above are completely owned by the author of Novel. I am but using it as a muse of my current blog.

"Randomness of the universe", this has been on my mind since the day I have read above portion of novel, which is on page 57 (of  total 565 pages). I am currently at page 153, as I write this blog.

This blog is an attempt for to get my thoughts out in the open.

My personal belief's are very much inclined to randomness. I do believe that there is Greater Power beyond Human understanding, which has created / product of complex event which has occurred a very long time ago which has led to Universe, as we understand it as of today. Scientific recognizes this event as "The Big Bang", normal people like us, are taught to believe its Intent of God

As one can clearly observe, it has become Homo sapiens' prime purpose to understand in a structured way about this chaotic, completely random chain of events called life in a universe

Which has led me to question the intent: Why do we need to know where do we come from? What drives us to question why there in imbalance?

I have been attempting to answer above questions. Here goes:

Highly intelligent beings need to have a drive / a delta (deficit which leads to drive) / a sense of owning a purpose, in order to navigate through this chaotic universe of randomness.  We tend to look for a pattern with our own little perceptions to navigate through randomness called life.

Our perceptions are built based on experiences which we go through. And experiences are based on decisions which we make based on then state of mind and situation presented.

Situations are random which we do not have any control.

However, we intelligent homo sapiens need to have a sense of control over this randomness of situations. Which in itself is a decision taken at a given instance unleashing its chain of events.

Explains why our ancestors created a science called astrology to interpret / predict how does one take a decision in a given instance of randomness. Has that helped thus far in maintaining balance? Our science did answer that gravity plays an important role in minutest of activities in our lives. Do we have control on gravity?

"Greater Power" / "God", She / he would have so much micro management to do across all the universe, if they chose to focus on actions of their creations every second. She / he has to maintain same fairness to homo sapiens, to viruses & to aliens (living on other end of milky way).

Yet God's / Greater Power's actions did trigger the Big Bang which has led to set of random events, which has resulted in life on planet earth.

Randomness explained: I took a decision to stay away from my family to facilitate recovery of my partner. Then came COVID-19 / lockdowns et cetera. This led me to dig into shelves of my own home to find this book (bought by my partner years ago) to read which was a decision to fight against limit of of my mind

Which lead to me deciding that I am inspired by what I read and to post a portion of it on Twitter. Then a week later I decide to blog about it.

Random situations presented and I took a decisions based on my state of mind in those given situations.

Were all these an act of God / Greater Power / Gravity / Infinity?

Trivia of us Human Beings

All the so called traditionally rich people say that agnostic people are way good for nothing. I wonder if tradition actually teaches you to actually be jealous., develop ego's.

People tend to forget that tradition, religion concepts etc were all part of maintaining harmony in the society. Our forefather fore thought a million years ahead and have put down these so called "tradion", "religion" to prevent the most intelligent animal on earth from self destructing.

What our forefathers didnt forsee was that the same animal would anyway take on to the path of selfdestruction on the mere principle of the what they created. We see people kill each other for a simple reason of proving whose religion or race is superior.

When people say one should not compare oneself with others, I just wonder how do they co-exist. The whole system of human beings is based on the concept of comparision.Right from buying the smallest neccissity to the one which is essential.

Alas!! We live in such a controversial society with such controversial beliefs its really hard to figure out which is correct and which is not. Basic existence of Human race is to survive, reproduce and conquer. We are as close to the Lion's Pride as we can be. But people just dont tend to realise the same.

Passion

Its much more important for one to be passionate about certain things. Its as necessary as good and bad things happening in life. Being passionate about something differentiates one from the localized set of people. It helps you connect with total strangers who share same passion. Its a different feeling altogether. It defines oneself. It helps u connect with whole new set of people. It lets you do the regular and boring stuff with a difference.

Sinusoidal Curve!!!!!!

When experience is all about learning as when you go, why don't people ask how many times have you failed???? If failures are what teaches people, then more the failures the better learned person one would be.

Ironically, society doesn't want to know how many failures you have been through to be who you are. They always wants to see a hero. Not somebody who is a lost. How immature is the societies' thinking.

We should always have special place for people who have seen you through the sinusoidal curve. CARE less about people who are with you just because you are on the peak. Being judgmental is bad, but being practical isn't.

Work, Love and Money

The title about my blog seems so catchy. Its catchy as evidently everybody is fighting his own battle in their own brains to balance each and everything. This blog isn't about "how to?" aspects of the title, or about the logical connections between each of them. Its just a blog about its effects on our society.

Not every person in the world are well versed with a skill to balance among Work, Love and Money.
Ironically, most of the people are least deprived of one and some more than one. Each of us have come across one such person in some or the other situation. Balance, this is what everything is made up of in the nature. We human beings have made a necessary aspect to strike balance between these basic aspects (TITLE) affecting the nature's balance. Lets not get into the environmental aspects.

Work: In the past we all used to be traders. We still are but most of us forget this. Each and every individual does some work to fulfill his needs of hunger. My understanding of work is simple, no matter what work an individual does, he/she pledges to trade their respective skills for money. Skill has to be developed over a period of time.

Love: Simple but complicated. The emotional aspect of the society. All people who become self sufficient look to fill in their voids which they develop in the process of developing skills and securing a job. But this is what drives the society. Its an algorithm which is the spine of the system. Love is something that drives all of us to keep on doing what we do.

Money: This is the new food of society. Human beings have devloped such a crave for this entity in the society, that sometimes people just go blind on what they are doing to actually get hold of money. Love and Work is corrupted becoz of money. Hardly u can find any of two which are true and pure.

Well as it is said by many books.... Life is meant to be imperfect. Unless there is pain, one never truly enjoys the happiness. Unless there is a failure, one cannot know the true value of success.

Money is the culprit here. People are in constant search for true job and love. But most of the times.money corrupts the search.

Good and Bad have to co-exist. They are like a couple in marraige which dates back to basic life evolution. Each completes the other.

Jagjit Signh -2

Dedication to Jagjit Singhji
